Leading the creative direction for Birmingham’s most-read fashion and lifestyle publication to increase readership and drive awareness to new audiences.
Over a 4 year duration, I lead the creative studio at the magazine to advance the editorial and creative output of all content across digital and print. My role combined creative direction and editorial strategy alongside team growth and development.
I lead a team of art directors, designers, photographers, copywriters and editors to completely overhaul the magazine’s visual and verbal identity. The result was a contemporary approach to the traditional ‘freemium’ city publication aimed at a fashion-savvy readership with a high disposable income.
The developed visual language translated seamlessly across print and digital and was accompanied by a refined editorial hub at stylebham.com. Throughout my time at the magazine readership increased by over 400% online.
